Today I stumbled on a comic that describes almost everyone I’ve ever met (myself, included):
The term for this is “analysis paralysis“. Most people are easily overwhelmed by long lists of options, so they ultimately get none of them done. This is a common weakness, but it comes with a simple solution.
When you have a hundred things to do, you get 1% closer to finishing no matter which thing you choose. You can start with the task with highest priority, the task that’s easiest, or even the task that comes first alphabetically, and you are still getting there. The only thing you can do that doesn’t help, is doing nothing.
There is only one way to eat an elephant: one bite at a time.
